Music Director

Keith Burton is a gifted & accomplished pianist, conductor, accompanist, & teacher whose career has taken him anywhere from Broadway to the Boys Choir of Harlem.  Since 2008, Keith has been at Katonah UMC, where he enjoys the "familial congregation, meaningful sermons, and enthusiastic & musical choir."  Keith says, "I find that after struggling with and letting go of the image of God as a with-bearded benevolent man in the sky, I've been able to sense a divine presence in many aspects of personal, professional and community life. Sunday worship is a great way to keep my senses calibrated and open."  Keith enjoys long hikes with his wife Lucie and his children Adam & Camille.

Rev. Melissa Boyer earned a Master of Divinity degree from Union Theological Seminary in New York City in 1999 and has been practicing ministry ever since.  She has special training in Gestalt Pastoral Care. Pastor Melissa says, "I believe that God is More - more than human words and concepts can possibly define or capture.  God is within us, within creation, and also beyond us.  The teachings, example, and spiritual strength of Jesus are my life foundation. The Bible is my foundation as well, and I take it seriously - but not literally. I'm firmly planted within the Christian tradition, and I believe that God is found in other religious traditions as well. Love for God, neighbor, & self, and acceptance of God’s radical grace, are the cornerstones of my faith."

Pastor Melissa’s other calling is to be mom to her two teenage kids, whom she raised on her own for the better part of ten years, before marrying a wonderful man named Barry Mangione on August 16, 2014.  Pastor Melissa enjoys the outdoors, cooking delicious paleo meals, and making music with people.
