Friends,

You may have seen the news about the catastrophic flooding that hit the Hudson Valley in New York on July 10. Unfortunately, these areas that lost homes, communities, roads, access to clean water and resources continue to be inundated with severe storms and potential for flash flooding. Thankfully, our United Methodist churches in the Hudson Valley have not reported flood damage to their buildings or property. However, many in our communities are in dire need of help, particularly in Highland Falls and Fort Montgomery. As United Methodists, we have an opportunity to be the hands and feet of Christ as we help and serve...

Donations help churches and communities care for unforeseen needs when responding to a disaster. Your donation will go directly to supporting disaster response in the Hudson Valley. Click here to donate, and enter your donation amount under "Donate to Hudson Valley Flood Relief." There will be updates on collections and volunteer opportunities coming soon. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Ross Porter, the NYCT District Disaster Response Coordinator at email: wrporter115@verizon.net.

Pray with me: "Oh God, be with those who are hurting, afraid for their future and feeling overwhelmed by the rushing waters. Be with them, we pray. Comfort them and help them to know that they are loved and not forgotten. And help us, Holy One, to be your hands and feet as we respond with the mercy-filled love we first learned from you. In Jesus' name, Amen."

My friends, may it be so.

Rev. Doris K. Dalton, Director of Connectional Ministries

The Northern Westchester Cooperative Parish is collecting donations and supplies for flood relief to be assembled on July 29th from 3-6pm at Mt. Kisco United Methodist Church. Please consider bringing a cash or check donation to church THIS SUNDAY so that we can coordinate supplies to bring to the event next weekend.
